Pastor Jim & Kimberly Spohn

Pastor Jim and his family came to the First Church of the Nazarene in June of 2008.  He is a graduate of Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Prior to entering ministry as a full time pastor, Pastor Jim, with his lovely wife were volunteers for 13 years in the Church of the Nazarene (in Peoria, IL and Colorado Springs, CO) while he worked full time as a project manager in construction related fields and a production manager in a store fixture factory.  He interned at Grove City Church of the Nazarene with the executive pastor there for one year just prior to coming here.

Pastor Jim loves working with teams and strategizing to increase the effectiveness of anything he is involved in.  When that comes to ministry, only God can really see what happens in his mind.  He is a great dreamer and visionary and loves being active in the progress of the work of Jesus Christ, so he is always on the go.  Preaching the truth of the entire Word of God is a great passion of his and he loves exploring new ways to bring that to life for anyone who will listen.

Pastor Jim was married to Kimberly in 1993, his high school sweetheart.  They compliment each other so beautifully in their ministry.  Their boys, Aydan and Jared, are their joy and love.  They enjoy making time for their boys including playing video games, going for walks and bike rides, bouncing on the trampolene, visiting the zoo, and reading books.  Pastor Jim leads Aydan's Cub Scout den out of Wattles Park Pack 335 which provides him some fun one-on-one time with his son as well as a great way to connect with the community they live.
